Ug. I hate the title of this post, but that’s totally what I thought of as I put this outfit together. I wanted something cute and comfortable that would show off my legs as I road tested my new booties. I’m also trying to get used to my new specs so I kind of build the outfit from the top (specs) and bottom (shoes).

♥ Dark Green Cardigan: Penneys ♥ Grey Tshirt: Dunnes (€2!) ♥ Black Tulip Skirt: New Look ♥ Black Booties: Marks & Spencer ♥ Glasses: Specsavers ♥
Let’s talk tulip skirts. I’ve read a lot of conflicting reviews of them, but I have to say as a gal with her fair share of hips, I love them. They fall nicely around my hips and the draping makes it look like my curves are intentional (which they are) not a bi-product (as they might be in a pencil skirt). Of course there’s no hard and fast rule on clothes, you just have to wear what’s right for you.

I grabbed the t-shirt the other day as I was getting new gym/dance class clothes and it ended up fitting really well, so it got promoted to regular wardrobe rotation. All in all, this outfit was a bit of a risk for me (I usually shy away from short skirts during the day) but I think it worked. I like showing off my legs in these shoes. Plus they are actually really comfortable to walk all around in. Yay!

Thanks! Nice to get positive feedback on the glasses, still reeling from the trauma of getting horrendous grandma glasses at 10yrs old!
