I’m sew excited about my birthday presents…A brandspankingnew Brother Sewing Machine! And the card from my husband put me in stitches. (Okay, enough puns)
And with my grandma’s birthday money, I got a DK’s Complete Book of Sewing (you could get it on Amazon for $100 if you are an idot or head down to the new and fabulous Gutter Bookshop in the West End of Temple Bar for €21.95)
This is one of the most comprehensive books on sewing I’ve ever seen. With guides on fabric, tools, pattern cutting, and construction of just about every element of a garment in bright clear photos–it will definitely become my new best friend and ultimate tutor.
And this is why my husband is great: an adorable Miffy card (one of my favourite kitchy characters)…
…and chocolate chocolate chip pancakes (American style, not crepes!) for breakfast.
