@28WeeksΞ Well, here I am on the first day of the last trimester of this pregnancy in an outfit that will define the next 3 months–comfort. There really is no use in being uncomfortable for the sake of fashion when your body is in overdrive producing the next generation. So forget it ladies, wear those heels and that slightly too tight dress while you’re still in the nimble 2nd trimester stage, because you’ll just become a cranky beach ball if you don’t conform a little to maternity wear by week 30.
But don’t get me wrong, it’s still possible to look cute and have fun in the 3rd trimester–and it’s fun to play up the bump and take advantage of being visibly pregnant (Although, I’d still like a few of you to give me your seat on the bus or to stop smoking inside the bus shelter, thanks.) This outfit was pulled together on a lovely morning on our way to a new cafe in Terenure. I wanted something easy to wear and sneaker friendly for walking around. This tunic was found on the sale rack at Penneys for €2. It was originally an ugly bubble hem dress, so I cut off the bottom band and hemmed it up to make an easy, lose tunic. All the fabrics in this outfit are really soft, which is so important on my over stretched skin.
If you find yourself in Terenure, you must stop in the Mayfield Deli & Eatery. It is divine! It’s quite small, so avoid peak lunch times. But there’s a sweet little bench with cushions out front to relax while you wait. I’m looking forward to strolling down to the cafe with my little guy to enjoy a fresh baked savoury muffin and coffee. They have an amazing assortment of gourmet sandwiches, pies, salads and fancy things like tagine and goulosh. The staff and customers were all amazingly friendly (surprising given that so there was quite a queue for a table) All in all its a bit of bliss at 7 Terenure Road North.
It’s super cute inside too. Check out the great pics on their Facebook page.
