I found it on Blue Dog Jewlery’s Etsy site. The pin is one of 4 Challenge pins awarded by the Girls Scounts in 1963. Also available are the Emergancy Preparadness and Active Citizenship pins (all $12 ea.) The seller is from Canyon Lake, TX–a stone’s throw from where I grew up. How could I not get it?

I dare you to not want to buy something! I found this amazing little Lenox elephant with gold toes.  Shipped specially (and protectively to Ireland) with cute wrapping and a sweet note.

This elephant is very special to me. My mom gave me one just like it for my 21st birthday, but it broke during one of my many moves over the past 5 years. In my most recent move to Ireland, my husband finally made me get rid of the sad shattered elephant. So when I found this (via random Estsy searching) I knew it was meant for me. That’s the best thing about vintage and antiques–lost memories returned, nostalgia and sentamentality. Plus, sometimes their just super cute!
