@29WeeksΞ Check me out in my totally non maternity dress! Okay, so the pleated bell shape is forgiving around my bump and it would be way too short without leggings–but it still fits and that’s pretty exciting. I haven’t worn it for a few months, but you might remember it from here and here.

I really love this tiny check shirt from American Apparel. It’s the hubby’s (and he hardly recognized it on me!) But true confession, I could only button the first couple of buttons before the tummy took over. I really like this combo and will be resuming it post maternity as well (if my hubby doesn’t mind me stealing his duds again)

PS: How pretty are those white flowers spilling over the fence. Thanks neighbours!

This outfit wasn’t quite the showstopper I expected it to be, but I liked it enough to post. I think I’ll really love this cardigan during my annual return to nautical style around May of each year (seriously, it’s like clockwork and the only way to get me out of the phase is to take me on a boat!) I found the sweater at Enable Ireland for €4 on the same trip that produced my fiesta dress and treasure box. It’s cropped, boxy and a very heavy knit. I like it, but am having trouble styling it just right. I tried it on with my American Apparel jersey skirt and it looked really cute (a la Alexa Chung) but not work appropriate. I’ll keep remixing till I get it right.

Edit: After writing that I thought this sweater looked like Alexa Chung, I decided to see if she ever actually did wear it…and wouldn’t you know it, she has. I also found some great style inspirations from All This Happiness who totally kills this sweater as well as ton of other lovely vintagey looks. Looking through her blog made me want to drink ice tea (or Pimms) out in a sunny field, a nice change of pace from Dublin!

Buffalo Plaid Bargain

I got a little sidetracked at Tesco today and ended up coming home with a cute new outfit for just €12! I need to adjust the straps and do a little tidying of the dress, but it’s not too shabby for €8. I really like the sweetheart neckline and thick straps, its a nice change of pace for me. I decided to replace the black sash that came with the dress for a thin black patent belt (€2) and I’ll accessorize with a 100% silk, tomato red scarf (€2) in my hair.

By the way, did you know that “Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.” is a complete sentance. Oh yes it is.

Mixed Prints

Today I pulled together a new outfit all with pieces under €20! I really liked the idea of mixing prints (dots and plaid) but I’m playing it safe by keeping everything black and white. I picked out the blue beads at the last minute to give a little dash of colour and think the tone matches by Miami Pink toes.

Living in rainsoaked Dublin means that cute coats are essential, and seeing as I didn’t really own a proper coat for my first 18 years in South Texas, I still find them a novelty. My mom and I spotted this cute black & white plaid, full shirt trench coat on sale at Dunnes for €9. It was missing most of the buttons, so we spirited some for other coats in the shop–Mom’s idea, I promise!
