@35WeeksΞ This is one of the most comfy outfits for my late maternity wear and I throw on this tunic all the time! Light cotton is great for the warm, rainy days of summer–and the plaid brings me back to my country roots. At first I had some misgivings about the tunic. I do wish it was either longer and had a straight hem, making it a dress…or was a bit shorter, making it a longer top that could be worn with shorts. But right now, anything that is remotely cute and covers the bump is good enough for me. With only a few weeks to go at my maximum width, it’s not time to start shopping. I think I might consider altering it for post-maternity because I love the colour combo (also the main colours in the little guy’s nursery)

@33WeeksΞ Well, I am most definitely in the 3rd trimester and most definitely showing! Especially with this tight figure hugging outfit. Surprisingly, it doesn’t make my bus mates any more keen to give up a seat! I’ve felt quite nautical lately with this outrageously sunny weather. This top has little sea gulls and sailboats and is not maternity. I have a suspicion that its a really tacky tank dress, but the stretch jersey makes it perfect for my bump.

Along with the nautical top, I added my lovely little antique store in Dingle (just before we hopped aboard a boat to visit Fungi the Dolphin). I love collecting little pins or scarves on my holidays that remind me special moments.

Now, just a note and apology for the lack of posts recently. But the 3rd trimester is exhausting! Not only am I ridiculously round, but there’s a million things to do at work (only one week left though!) and so much left to buy for the baby. And this hot weather does nothing for my style as I’m generally hot and puffy as I get home from work, neglecting my photo and blog duties. I’ll have a few more cute outfits to come once I start my leave.

@32WeeksΞMy husband planned a lovely day out on Dollymount Stand on the bank holiday, but true to Irish form, the sunny weather disapeared and we got a wicked windy and wet day. It didn’t really matter to me. The sea is the sea and I love long walks on the beach, rain or shine. By the way, in the top photo I am pointing out a seagull–because you know, you never see them at the beach!

There’s not much to say about this outfit except that it is very comfortable for a day of mixed weather conditions. I love these Keds so much. They were slightly too big, but now that my feet have swelled they fit like a charm. So now I’m trying to build as many outfits around them as possible. How fantastic are the old bathing shelters at the far end of Dollymount Strand? I really wish I could go back in time to see the beach in it’s heyday.

@22 WeeksΞI was feeling very Eastery last weekend and did not want the cold, rainy weather get me down. So I decided to dress like an Easter Egg with lots of bright colours to perk me up. Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to shy away from colour. Although, a lot of people will tell you to wear all black. Sure it’s slimming, but you need a little fun every once in a while too…especially Easter.

Okay, so I did use a lot of black in this outfit, but it’s the purple that really pops. I love this dress and wore the heck out of it last summer. It’s a simple enough, loose dress that can easily fit into a maternity wardrobe. Once again, I’m at 22 weeks without a stitch of maternity clothes on–it all depends on the cut. The dress is a little shorter these days, so I’d only wear it with thick leggings.

To play up the baby bump and dress up the outfit, I added a black bow sash out of stiff cotton (so it would stand up better than a satin sash). I’m loving my strange new proportions of a tiny top and XL centre. The main point of getting dressed in the morning should be to make yourself feel good, no matter what happens to be peculiar about you!

This outfit really came together last minute and worked! (That usually doesn’t happen, like when I get dressed in the dark and mismatch my tights) It works because it’s an easy silhouette that mixes trends (big plaid flannel) and classic pieces (navy wool pencil skirt). I had fun playing around with photos too…

I am absolutely loving my new snood from A-Wear. Plus it’s fun to say snood…snnnnnood…snooooood* I’m not sure I understand where the name comes from, but it’s not really that important (I get the S-scarf and OOD-hood, but he N?) I was inspired by MessYourHairUp’s recent snood+stripes combo and through this together in a mad rush out the door (though not too mad to miss an opportunity to take photos)

♥ Stripped T: H&M ♥ Snood: A|Wear ♥ Skirt: American Apparel ♥ ♥ Boots: New Look ♥

It was really cold out, so I added a sweater for the commute. This cropped grey cashmere sweater from Express is one of my favourite pieces. I found it on sale for $19 about 7 years ago and it has definitely been worth every penny. The cropped sleeves and tight fit let the stripes shine through and doesn’t add too much bulk (and helps counter the horizontal stripe effect)

♥ Boots: New Look ♥

And these are my new grey boots (purchased in the North because they were cheaper). I really wanted some flat grey boots and these were the first I saw that I liked. I know that being cheep they probably won’t last too long, but they are actually made pretty well and are very comfortable.

I really liked the idea of mixing prints (dots and plaid) but I’m playing it safe by keeping everything black and white. I picked out the blue beads at the last minute to give a little dash of colour and think the tone matches by Miami Pink toes.

Living in rainsoaked Dublin means that cute coats are essential, and seeing as I didn’t really own a proper coat for my first 18 years in South Texas, I still find them a novelty. My mom and I spotted this cute black & white plaid, full shirt trench coat on sale at Dunnes for €9. It was missing most of the buttons, so we spirited some for other coats in the shop–Mom’s idea, I promise!

Dress: H&M

Cardigan: Jacob

Jeans: Wallis (another steal at €10)

Coat: Dunnes

Shoes: Aldo (the great, mad, always on sale shop in Boston’s DTX)

Beads: Claire’s

It’s always nice to have a little piece of home and reminds me of the easy Mexican tunics my mom would throw on en route to the pool on swealtering summer days. Other highlights of the outfit are ridiculously comfortable tan leather peep-toe wedges from Schuh.

Bangle: Funky Munky, Grafton St Dublin
