@24WeeksΞ Ah spring. Such a lovely and difficult time to get dressed in the morning. On this particularly day, I boldly left home without my trusty trench–and quickly regretted it as the temperature dropped during the day. Thankfully I brought my bright yellow scarf to wrap up in. I get very confused by bright sunny days and expect they should be warm. One of these days I’ll get used to Dublin.

I’m once again wearing my favourite top from my hometown of San Antonio. I’m feeling a lot of nostalgia for home in my pregnancy and want to make sure this little guy connects to his Texas roots (and Irish and English too). I’ve always worn the top with jeans and suddenly realised I could make it work appropriate with my pencil skirt. I’m still amazed that this children’s size shirt still fits (though not for long)

I definitely gravitate towards colour during spring. With beautiful flowers popping up and a return of blue sky, it’s impossible to wear dark earthy tones or heavy knits–even it if is freezing outside! Lesson learned, always bring a coat or layers to make it through the Dublin day.

This is St Audoen’s Church, one of the many medieval churches around the Christchurch area. I was there to attend the Ye Lord Mayor’s Delight as part of the TCBT Handel’s Day celebrations. St. Audoen’s is open to tourists after some great renovations. You should definitely check it out!

@20 WeeksΞ Proof positive that you don’t always need to wear maternity clothes when you’re pregnant. Of course, it all depends on your own personal body shape. I’m pretty small up top and have super narrow shoulders so must of my looser and longer tops still fit through the 5th month. In fact, this top is a child’s! (Here I am wearing it last summer)

This is one of my favourite outfits because it reminds me of home and has lovely bright colours. It’s probably pretty cheesy, but I wore it to my 20 week scan because I’m definitely going to raise this little guy to love his Tex-Mex roots–one delicious taco at a time!

Now a quick note about maternity jeans. They are great and really help your maternity wardrobe expand. As you’re buying things focus on basics and make fair use of everything you have that still fits. I recommend getting jeans with the large over-belly panel. They are ultimately more comfortable and will last longer as you grow and grow. The only downside is that you’ll see the dark panel under light tops, so make sure you invest in some tanks to wear under everything.

If you like this look but won’t be in Market Square anytime soon, there’s a cute embroidered tunic at H&M in the garden collection for €9.95 and keep your eye out for the obligatory hippie festival wear coming out soon.

It’s always nice to have a little piece of home and reminds me of the easy Mexican tunics my mom would throw on en route to the pool on swealtering summer days. Other highlights of the outfit are ridiculously comfortable tan leather peep-toe wedges from Schuh.
