I don’t have a ton of pictures of me and Nate (I’m usually behind the camera these days), so I’d like to look lovely on the day. I’m looking for a spring dress (even it if is cold that day) that has an a-line skirt and buttons up or crosses over (for easy nursing access). This quest is harder than I thought it would be. Here are two contenders I found on Etsy tonight.

♥ Navy Secretary Dress: Vintage, thrifted, hemmed from Wild Child Vintage ♥ Orange and navy striped belt: Goodwill San Francisco ♥ Boots: Jones ♥ Black maternity tights: Berkshire ♥ Starfish silver necklace: Gift from former colleagues ♥

@25WeeksΞ How adorable is this dress? I found it at Wild Child last year but never got around to hemming it until now. It was a decent price (3 dresses for €50 including this one and a cute green plaid dress that I may have to wait until next year to wear). It was really long, so I brought it up about 2.5 inches. I think I might bring it up more post-maternity, but didn’t want it to be scandalously short with the bump.

The original belt is missing so I added this orange and navy striped belt. It adds a punch of colour so that the dress isn’t too dark and accents what little waist I have left. I found it at Goodwill in the Haight, San Francisco for $2. That was a truly great thrift shop and I’m still lamenting things left behind…

What I love most about this dress is that it fits my narrow shoulders perfectly. This is a rare find for me! The rounded collar and pleating around the shoulders are a really nice touch making this dress a must have. I’ll keep playing around with the hem until it’s perfect. For now though, it’s fitting my bump nicely thanks to the elastic natural waist and box pleat skirt.

By the way, did you notice my eyebrows have finally been tamed? I finally found a cheap local place to get them shaped (without wax, I’m too sensitive) — Body Craft near Patrick’s Cathedral for €10

♥ Orange and blue vintage dress: Wild Child Vintage ♥ Navy Belt: from vintage, thrifted skirt found at Oxfam Georges St ♥ Cropped Cardi: Gap ♥ Vintage broach: Dublin Flea ♥ Peep-toe brown leather flats: Schuh ♥

@24 WeeksΞ When you’re headed to a vintage fair, you have no choice but wear vintage. I was totally excited that this dress (just) fit me as my bump is getting larger by the day. I’m 6 months now and very proud to say I can still fit in some of my non-maternity clothes! The secret of this dress is the natural waist and kick pleats, giving me a little extra room.

I found this dress last winter at Wild Child and was waiting until spring to bust it out (being white and all). I’m so glad I don’t have to wait until 2011 to debut it. It’s really sweet and perfect for sunny summer outings. Unfortunately, yesterday was not so sunny and I was freezing in my bare legs!

My favourite part of the dress is the unique faux button panel and wide shoulders. The fabric is really cute too. I have a feeling the dress is handmade. There’s no label and some of the tacking stitching inside is in different colours. If so, it’s superbly constructed. I felt super girlie in this dress, but not over the top. I general try to blend my modern/highstreet pieces with vintage to keep from being in costume. This cropped sweater was a great bargain buy (on sale years ago). It looks great will full skirts, accentuating my (still) tiny top (pregnancy hasn’t changed anything in that department!)

Well, this outfit is a couple of days old. I wore it on a very busy (and blustery) day last week full of conferences and crafting. I love this dress! It’s my first Market Publique purchase and I wore the heck out of it this summer. Now, just add some tights, a scarf and a cardigan and you’ve got a great outfit to inject a bit of colour to those dark winter days. I may have gone overboard on the matching, but the dress is so bold, the purple almost becomes a neutral. And hey, you can never have too much purple can you?
